The Bulang nationality has a population of over 50,000. Most of them are concentrated in the Bulang mountains of the Xishuangbanna area of south China, by Burma and VietNam. The Bulang have a verbal language close to that of other Southeast Asian countries, but have no written script. Most Bulang people are farmers and are famous for their pu-er tea, a special product of their region. The Bulang are mostly Buddhists. They share some of the same festival celebrations with the Dai people, what we would call the Thai of Thailand. Women wear tight fitting skirts and are proud of their gold teeth and believe it or not, teeth stained black. (Smile for the nice people, Robin.) Men display body tattoos on limbs and torso.
